Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Pro Audio Tools (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use PAT I/O, our related services, and this website. It is written in plain language for operators and App Store reviewers. It is not a substitute for legal advice — please review it if you rely on it formally.

Who we are

Pro Audio Tools publishes PAT I/O, a professional audio patching app for iPhone and iPad, and operates the supporting services described below. Publisher contact for privacy questions: mark@proaudiotools.com.

What this covers

• PAT I/O — the native iOS app

PAT I/O works offline. You can create and edit productions on device without an account. Online features (sign-in, sync, share, web viewer) only apply when you choose to use them.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use the product, we may process:

• Account email — when you sign in with a magic link
• Sign in with Apple subject — Apple’s stable user identifier; email only if Apple provides it
• Account identifier — a UUID we assign to your account
• Session credentials — hashed session tokens on our servers; the live session token stays in the device Keychain
• Production and device data you sync or share — productions, devices, patch/stagebox/camera-audio/intercom content and related operational fields you choose to sync or share
• Share membership — who joined a shared production and their role (for example Admin, Editor, Viewer)
• Magic-link metadata — hashed one-time login tokens and expiry timestamps
• Marketing waitlist email — if you submit the “Notify me” form on this website (processed via Formspree)
• Technical delivery data — ordinary server and edge logs needed to run HTTPS (for example IP address, timestamps, request paths). We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA) or App Tracking Transparency prompts in PAT I/O

We do not sell personal data. We do not run third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the iOS app.

Why we use it

• Create and maintain your account
• Send magic-link sign-in email
• Authenticate sessions and protect account access
• Sync productions across your signed-in devices
• Power share codes, crew membership, and the read-only web viewer
• Respond to feedback you send us
• Operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service
• Notify you about product availability if you joined the website waitlist
• Meet App Store, security, and legal obligations

How we share information

We share data only with processors needed to run the product:

• Resend — delivers magic-link email from addresses such as login@proaudiotools.com
• Apple — Sign in with Apple authentication; when you delete your account we attempt to revoke Apple refresh tokens where configured
• Formspree — receives waitlist emails submitted on this website
• Cloudflare — DNS, HTTPS edge, and hosting for this website and public hostnames
• Our hosting infrastructure — the PAT I/O API and database that store account and sync data

Crew members you invite to a shared production can see the shared operational content for that production, according to the role you grant them. Viewer links expose a read-only snapshot of the shared production.

We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the security and integrity of the service.

Retention

• Account and synced data — kept while your account exists
• Magic links — short-lived; expire and are not reusable after consumption
• Sessions — kept until they expire or you sign out / delete your account
• Owned shares — removed when you delete your account (including related memberships for shares you own)
• Local device data — remains on your device under iOS storage until you delete it in the app or remove the app; signing out or deleting the server account does not by itself wipe unrelated offline-only local libraries you kept only on device
• Waitlist email — kept until you ask us to remove it or we close the list
• Operational logs — retained only as long as needed for security and reliability

Account deletion

If you created an account, you can delete it in PAT I/O under Settings → Account. Deletion calls our API (DELETE /v1/account) and removes your account, sessions, magic links, account-owned sync entities/operations, and shares you own (including their memberships). Where Sign in with Apple refresh tokens are stored and revoke credentials are configured, we attempt to revoke them with Apple as part of deletion.

After deletion you can continue using the app offline without an account. If you only need to leave a shared production you do not own, leave or remove that membership in-app rather than deleting your whole account.

Children’s privacy

PAT I/O is built for professional broadcast and live-audio work. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

International transfers

We may process data in the European Economic Area and in other countries where our processors (for example Apple, Resend, Formspree, or Cloudflare) operate. Those providers apply their own contractual and security measures for cross-border processing.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to certain processing. You can:

• Sign out in the app (clears the local session)
• Delete your account in Settings
• Email mark@proaudiotools.com for privacy requests, including waitlist removal

If you are in the EEA/UK and believe we have not handled a request appropriately, you may contact your local data-protection authority. For the Netherlands, that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Security

We use HTTPS, hashed credentials for magic links and sessions, and Keychain storage for the live session token on device. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; please protect your device and email inbox.

Changes

We may update this policy when the product or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes that affect App Store users will be reflected at this URL, which the app links to under Settings → About → Privacy Policy.
